At the Foundation we believe that embedding mental health education in both teaching and learning will play a key part in turning our mental health statistics around. We want to ensure schools have the resources and support they need to equip future generations of New Zealanders with the ability to safeguard and nurture their own mental wellbeing while helping others do the same.
The University of Auckland are evaluating Mitey, following a cohort of schools as they progress through Mitey. The year one evaluation shows that Mitey ‘has the potential to make radical change in mental health education in New Zealand’. You can read the summary impact evaluation and full evaluation report here.
The Joyce Fisher Charitable Trust has been instrumental in the start up and development of Mitey, giving the Foundation a strong base to work from and security to grow from.
